My name is Nick Rae, and I have recently returned to photography a year or so ago and am loving it. I live in Sheffield, which is in Yorkshire (England).
My Dad bought me my first camera in 1968 when I was eight years old. It was an Ilford in a smart leather case, had a Zeiss 35mm Lens and was manual only. It had no rangefinder so I had to estimate the distance and use an East German light meter. That meant working out the aperture and shutter speed using a card. Happy days. My favourite film camera was my Pentax ME Super although I left photography in the later ‘80s. I dabbled with an early Canon EOS then a Pentax Kr, although nothing took. A few years ago, I bought a Nikon D3300 although I didn’t get on with its DX lenses. I used a Nikon D750 for a while but it was too cumbersome and heavy for me. I now have an Olympus OMD em10 ii with its kit lens.
I have joined a couple of photography groups and I am loving the photography experience.
